"Everyman" is a play teaching of moral values. The author mainly uses irony to show what he may feel as necessary to prove of the things you've done before giong to heaven. Everyman calls upon Knowledge, his Five Wits, Goods, Friendship, Kindred and Cousin at different points in the story to help show what he's done. He soon finds it ironic that, of the things he felt closest to him, he isn't able to rely on any during the times he needs them most.
